Take a closer look at the colorful 2015 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion and its 14 predecessors

Madrid-based architectural practice SelgasCano are behind the design for 2015’s Serpentine Pavilion, which will be constructed from translucent layers of multicolored membrane panels made from fabric.

Co-directors José Selgas and Lucía Cano are seeking to provide an experience through ‘simple elements: structure, light…change, surprise, color and materials’

Smiljan Radic’s 2014 Pavilion comprise of a translucent, round shell made of glass-reinforced plastic, molded in a ring shape that sat on large stones. It now resides at Hauser & Wirth Somerset Photography: Iwan Baan
